A 'flat' roof isn't actually flat, it needs some kind of slope to allow water to run off. A flat roof describes a roof type that is slightly higher at one end than the other (usually across the width of the building), but only has a single pitch. Typically, the highest side is at the front, allowing water to be drained at the rear of the building.
A pitched roof is one where the apex of the roof is in the middle of the building. This provides a classic look, and a steep pitch, making it easier for rain to run away. The a-frames used to create an apex roof typically make pitched roofs more expensive than flat roofs, however, they do provide some additional interior space that can be utilized.

They are sealed well, require little to no maintenance, have thick glass, and stand up to the harsh Cape weather brilliantly. Wooden windows and doors can be put in any of our units, Nutec or pine clad. They are low cost, easy to maintain, and if properly looked after will last for a long time. Althouth our wooden frames are treated hardwood, they do require a good surface finish to protect from the harsh Cape Climate. Although we do fit wooden frames to Nutec structures, they are more common in pine clad units.
